Tommy Schuman 2-8-94 - 3-31-12

Picture
Tommy was born February 8, 1994 to Dan & Lynn Schuman.  He lit up our lives with his beautiful blue eyes, fun-loving personality and sarcastic humor.  He was the best brother to Joey, Hanna & Emma.  He treasured each of them and they admired him.  Tommy was very family oriented and held dear his relationships with his Grandma Lee, Grandpa Wes, and Shumee.  Tommy truly felt the loss of companionship when Grandpa Schuman passed in 2008.  Tommy loved spending time with all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins and always looked forward to gatherings.  Tommy's sponsors for his Christian baptism were Uncle Mike, Aunt Lori, Uncle DJ, and Aunt Rosie.  These were important people in his life and people he knew he could count on.  Tommy was blessed with some great friends!  Closest buddies who he shared his heart with and lots of laughs were Mitch and Ricky, Three Amigos for Life ("TAFL").

Tommy loved sports.  He couldn't play enough hockey, enjoying everything from rec league to pond hockey to skating Sunday mornings with Dad, Joey, and the Pass It On family.  For many years he played baseball with the New Lenox Rebels travel team (a second family).  He continued baseball in high school and was named one of the Captains for his senior year.  He developed a passion for golf at an early age and loved to golf with his Dad, Joey, friends, and family.  Golf was very important to him in high school and he took pride in being asked to be Captain his senior year.  Many friends were made through his passion for sports.  He cherished the relationships with teammates and fabulous coaches.

Tommy was a proud Lincoln-Way Central Knight.  He enjoyed school and felt privileged to be a leader with the Adaptive P.E. Program.  He was excited to finish his senior year with prom and graduation with his friends.  Come fall...he was bound for the University of Minnesota to be a Golden Gopher and study business.  He looked forward to spending time with Minnesota family.

On March 31, 2012, Tommy went to sleep...and awoke in the arms of Jesus.  He will be sorely missed.  We are challenged to honor his name by enjoying life to the fullest and pursuing our relationship with Jesus Christ.  Romans 5:1-2 we found underlined in Tommy's personal Bible.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.  And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.  Romans 5:1-2
